Mitchell Woodcock is one of Australia’s most sought-after creative directors and choreographers, recognised for his expansive work across theatre, television, live events, fashion, sport and commercial entertainment. His work sits at the intersection of large-scale spectacle and artist-driven storytelling, positioning him as a leading creative voice within the Australian industry and increasingly on the international stage.

Mitchell choreographed the Paramount+ original series Paper Dolls and directed campaigns for major Australian productions including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Saturday Night Fever, Chicago and Jesus Christ Superstar. He has served as Creative Director and Choreographer on Australian Idol, The Voice Australia and the TikTok Awards, and wrote and directed the original spiegeltent production Lassù, which is currently touring Australia.

A specialist in major events and ceremonies, Mitchell has creatively directed and choreographed globally broadcast ceremonies including the ICC T20 World Cup Opening Ceremony, Formula 1 Headline Performance, FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony, FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, AFC Women's Asian Cup and the Super Netball Grand Final. He has delivered headline performances for Amy Shark and Guy Sebastian at both NRL and State of Origin events, blending commercial scale with high-impact performance direction.

As the founder of New Ground Collective, Mitchell has created work for more than 50 national and international artists, including Kylie Minogue, Rita Ora and Adam Lambert. His choreography and creative direction have been featured on the ARIA Awards, Dancing with the Stars Australia, Australia's Got Talent and the Logie Awards.

Mitchell became the youngest choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance Australia, an appointment that led to his choreography of Saturday Night Fever and earned him a Helpmann Award for Best Choreography. He later choreographed Elf The Musical for the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall and Annie the Musical.

In fashion and luxury, Mitchell has collaborated with global houses including Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., Karl Lagerfeld, Dior and Cartier, creating high-concept performance moments for premium brand environments.

As a performer, Mitchell made his professional debut in West Side Story at just 17 and toured internationally with productions including Wicked, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Kinky Boots and Guys & Dolls. He served as Resident Choreographer for Pippin and Creative Director for the marketing of Jesus Christ Superstar and Chicago. In 2025, Mitchell made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award Winning Best Musical, The Outsiders.

In 2024, Mitchell launched Co-Lab Quarters, a Newtown-based creative hub designed to support and connect performing artists beyond full-time training. The space has quickly become a leading platform for professional development, elite masterclasses and cross-industry collaboration.
